We have several RUTX50 routers that we use to connect to the internet by 4G/5G. We use OpenVPN on the router to connect to NordVPN. This all works great.
However, we have some traffic that we need to not go through OpenVPN to the internet. It needs to bypass the OpenVPN and go directly to the internet as if there was no OpenVPN installed on the router.
I have configured a second LAN on LAN4 network port and it gets a separate IP address and works okay.
How do I get that separate LAN to go direct to the internet by 4G/5G bypassing the OpenVPN connection.
I have tried everything I can find but I cannot get this to work.
Step by Step detailed instructions would be really helpful.
Plug a network cable into the WAN port on the RUTX50 with the other end of the cable plugged into a known working port on a router with access to the internet.
Factory reset the RUTX50.
Log into the RUTX50 and follow the instuctions you have given but just for Lan port 3.
Test that Lan port 3 on the RUTX50 has internet access vie the mobile WAN.
Install OpenVPN, in mycase connecting to NordVPN.
Test that Lan port 1 on the RUTX50 has internet access vie the mobile WAN and IS going through OpenVPN.
Test that Lan port 3 on the RUTX50 still has internet access vie the mobile WAN and IS NOT going through OpenVPN.
Once again thank you for your help, truly appreciated.
