I have settled in the mean time to configuring the basics of the OpenVPN configuration in the WebUI because the RMS is utterly unflexible here (for example: Configure OpenVPN Client via RMS when key material is already there ).
But I’d love to be able to push parameter changes to all my clients in one operation. Surprise: It doesn’t work. The RMS insists on me filling out fields that I don’t need and don’t want. For example, why does it insist on a Username and Password? It is a fully valid configuration to authenticate just with the client certificate!
For example: I have read back a working configuration from a router (“Get configuration from device”), and I cannot even save that thing because the RMS wants a password.
And when I give it a password, it wants a username. And when I give it a user name, it wants a Usernames & Passwords file. Why are all those fields required?!?
The RMS in its current state is of no help at all when it comes to configuring OpenVPN clients. Or I am missing something.
