Hi, I have noticed a very strange thing with Brother printer (dcp-t7200dw) not connecting to the AP. This happened after I switched from old Ubiquity AP to TAP200. Unfortunately the printed report from the printer doesn’t help as it simply says the printer couldn’t connect.
Printer sees the SSID, the pass is correct (checked many times), printer is fine (could easily connect to the hotspot made from my cell), no MAC filtering. Printer can connect in 11n standard (this is how it connected to hotspot).
Do you have any ideas what could be wrong here? Strangely even cheap Tuya devices connect easily but this printer doesn’t want to cooperate.
Could you confirm to which WiFi band you are attempting to connect your Brother printer? Many printers only support the 2.4 GHz band, so ensure that your connection is set to a 2.4 GHz AP.
Additionally, I suggest verifying that the 2.4 GHz channel width is set to 20 MHz in the router’s configuration. You can adjust this setting by navigating to: Network → Wireless → Radio → Edit 2.4 GHz radio settings.
Lastly, could you check and let me know the encryption type configured for the 2.4 GHz AP? This can be found in: Network → Wireless → 2.4 GHz Band Edit → Wireless Security tab.
Some devices, such as printers, can occasionally have compatibility issues with specific encryption types (e.g., WPA3). It might be worth testing with WPA2-PSK.
Changing the encryption helped. Initially I used mixed WPA-2/WPA-3 and this seemed to generate the issue. After fixing it at WPA-2 printer connected within blink of an eye!
