Best practise for FW update from TRB1_R_00.07.07.1 on TRB140

Hello,

I’ve a TRB140 4G modem for which I didn’t update FW for a while because for some reason the FOTA is disabled and when I try to enable it from the web interface it says: Failed to edit configuration.

So I’ve downloaded the latest FW, which is TRB1_R_00.07.19.4_WEBUI.bin at this time. I want to keep configuration settings (keep settings ticked), but is this safe for an upgrade from version 07.07.1 to 07.19.4 ?

Thanks for your advice,

kind regards,

Alexis

It may well struggle to migrate settings from such an old firmware version.

My advice is to ….

Check the release notes for all versions, to ensure there is no incremental upgrade path, then

a) take a backup

b) factory reset

c) upgrade firmware from file

d) manually configure

e) take a backup

Thank you, I will plan that asap.

Kind regards,

Hello @horusnetworks,

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

Best regards,

Hi,

It worked fine and I noticed that when I resetted to factory settings, the interface proposed to download the new firmware. So something was probably stuck.

Now, is it possible to upgrade the modem firmware as well ? Here’s the installed version:

  • Modem’s current version:
    EC25EUGAR06A05M4G

  • Configuration version:
    BETA1108_01.005.00.000

Thank you for your feedback,

kind regards,

Alexis
