I’m working on a piece of automation equipment that has includes a RUT950 connected to a computer.
This product is intended to be controlled from a tablet connected to the RUT’s WiFi network. We are using an Android tablet for this. Recently, (we think it was when we updated the tablet to Android 12,) the tablet is unable to maintain the a connection to the RUT’s WiFi network for more than about 30 seconds.
I just tested it with a different Android 12 tablet, and got the same behaviour.
All other devices seem to stay connected just fine.
The RUT has no internet connection (by design), though the problem has also been tested when the router has an internet connection with the same results.
The first thing that I would suggest is to update the firmware to the latest. The firmware for RUT950 can be downloaded from here, and uploaded in the WebUI from System → Firmware page. Please, ensure that you update the device with ‘keep settings’ option disabled as there can potentially be migration issues.
If the issue persists, please wait for it to occur again, navigate to System → Maintenence → Troubleshoot and view system logs. Copy the relevant logs around the time when the Android Tablet disconnected and post these logs here. Before posting these logs, make sure you hide any sensitive information, such as public IP addresses, serial numbers, etc, that can potentially appear in the logs.
Is there a way to do this with the “keep settings” option turned on?
I wasn’t the one who set up the router to begin with, so I’m really scared that I might not be able to manually restore the system configuration after the update.
Also, my only way of accessing the system is currently via the RUT950’s WiFi network, so am I going to lose access if I do this?
