An eSIM that actually works

Can anyone advise of a European eSIM that actually works? I have managed to download eSIM from Holafly but only able to ping Network provider IP address, unable to get Internet. This is not an issue with RUT241 eSIM but trying to find an actual eSIM provider that is known to work. Not much point in having an eSIM capable router if there is no service provider that works!

Some eSIM provider give you eSIM profiles for free without plans. When you install eSIM profile you need to buy a plan for it to get internet connection / SMS.

Some providers which I use on routers:

With BetterRoaming after eSIM profile install when connection is established you will get SMS (to check go to Services → Mobile Utilities → Messages). In message will be link to your personal profile in which you can select wanted plan.

I am trying to get Holafly to work in Australia, but no luck as well

What happens? Can’t install eSIM profile, get internet connect?

the eSIM finally worked. I had to wait about 15 minutes before it was added to the profile and then I had to create a custom APN for holafly to work.

Can you tell me what the custom apn settings were please?

So in Australia Holafly use Optus and Telstra so I added 2 APN’s with the same APN name “Global”

I think this is what fixed the issue.

You will need to know the MCC and MNC for your country…

You can go to WAN page select active mobile interface and enter custom APN there, no need to add APNs to APN database.

Hello @boomel,

Apologies for the delayed response.

Could you please confirm whether your issue has been resolved, or if you still require assistance?
