Aggressive Behavior Of 4G Modem. Frequent Communication With The Network Even In eSIM Suspended State

Hello Everyone,
I have installed machines with RUTX11 devices along with eSIMs from TEAL communications.
I use the 4G connection only when there is a need, so the eSIMs are suspended in order to not consume data.
Recently, I have received a notice from the eSIM dealer that the eSIMs though they are suspended (meaning blocked) they still trying to talk to the network cells, which is normal.
But they do it very frequently resulting in an “aggressive behavior” as Network Operators call it.

Engineers from TEAL told me that a rate of once per minute is a good limit to adhere to, in order to avoid the “aggressive behavior”. As there I have not found any relevant parameter in the configuration pages for mobile network, most probably this is a firmware issue. But I am not sure.

So conclusively I would appreciate if anyone can shed some light on to the issue.
Is there any relevant configuration parameter for the modem that we can change?

Thank you in advance.

Hello,

Apologies for the delayed response.

I have contacted our development team regarding the functionality you inquired about. I will update you as soon as I have more information.

Thank you for your patience.

Best regards,

Hello Marija,

Thank you for replying.

Well, I have some update regarding the issue.
I suspected that probably the failover function of the router was the issue.
The mobile wan interface was configured with 3sec interval between the ping requests to the network cells. So the devices were hammering the networks for possible connection.

Teal engineers told me that a fair interval of 1 minute, is a good value to adhere to the regulations of the network operator providers.

I am waiting feedback from Teal to inform me if the changed interval of 1 minute of the failover configuration has solved the issue.

Thank you in advance.

Hello,

Thank you for the update. Please let us know if changing the failover interval has resolved the issue. If not, we will proceed with further steps.

Best regards,
