The RUTX50 does not allow both SIM interfaces to be used in passthrough mode. This configuration was working perfectly on at least two devices prior to the firmware update. After the update, I attempted to adjust the configuration but encountered this unusual issue.
I have tried resetting the device and installing the latest firmware, but neither has resolved the problem. How can I fix this?
Although the RUTX50 has 2 SIM slots, it has only 1 modem … so you cannot use both SIMs at the same time.
I don’t use both SIMs simultaneously. The device was working with the default SIM, configured with SIM switch and failover mode enabled. In case of a network issue, the second SIM would automatically take over. However, I am now unable to configure passthrough mode on the second SIM.
With my limited experience, this was certainly true for firmware 07.09.1 and maybe earlier… where one interface could be ‘Passthrough’ and I believe the other had to be ‘NAT’.
What was your previous firmware version that you upgraded from, where this was possible?
It’s exactly the opposite. On the old firmware (7.04 or 7.05), there was no issue, but now, on the latest release, it’s impossible to configure both interfaces in passthrough mode.
