Access rut950 subnetwork from main network

Hello guys. I have a rut950 that I cannot configure. what I want to do more precisely: I have a network at home, a main router connected to the internet provider with lan 192.168.x.x. I have configured a client wifi network on rut950, which connects to the main router and a Lan interface with IP addresses 10.10.x.x.
I would like to connect all iot devices to this subnet including homeassistant, but I don’t know how to set firewall or dmz so that I can access from the main network (192.168.x.x) the homeassistant ip from the 10.10.x.x subnet because there will be devices in the main network (telephones, tvs) that will need to communicate with home assistant and in addition, homeassitant will have to be accessible from outside via ddns, as it is now when it is in the main network. I hope i have made myself understood and that you can help me in this problem. Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Sorry for the late reply.

It would be very helpful if you could provide a network topology with all your devices and their IP addresses to better understand your setup.

Best regards,

Hi Marija, here is the topology i want to use.
So, how can i access devices from rut950 Lan and how can i expose hassio device to external link. Right now, hassio can be accessed via ddns and port forwarding on ISP router. THANK YOU.

Hello,

Could you please specify the firmware version currently installed on your RUT950?

  • If your router can only operate on legacy firmware, please ensure you have the latest version, 6.09.5. It can be downloaded here: RUT950 Legacy Firmware Downloads.
  • If your router can operate on RutOS firmware, please ensure 7.06.16 is installed on your RUT950. It can be downloaded here: RUT950 Firmware Downloads.

Best regards,

I have the latest firmware 7.06.016

Hello,

Apologies for the delayed response.

You can try configuring a mesh network between the routers. More information can be found here: Wireless Mesh Configuration Example. Additionally, you can set up a VPN in the WebUI to access devices on the RUT950 LAN, as detailed here: RUT950 VPN, or access them via RMS using this guide: RMS VPN Hubs.

Could you also please specify why you prefer not to use DDNS and port forwarding for this setup?
Thank you.

Best regards,
