5GHz Network stopped working again

Last time I made an update my RUTX12 my 5GHz WIFI network stopped working. OK, at that point I skipped several updates, which might be one explanation.

This time, however, I went from RUTX_R_00.07.07.1 to RUTX_R_00.07.07.2 on my RUTX12. My thought was to avoid any issues like last time. However, I hit the same issue again.

@Teltonika, yes I can make a total reset, but this is not how updates are supposed to work.

Would appreciate a different solution than doing a reset all the time, as usually the backup don‘t work either.

Many thanks!
Michael

Hi,

I reviewed your last case, and it seems to lack some details. Did the 5GHz signal stop and the interface disappear? Were all the settings correct, but the wireless signal wasn’t being sent? It’s difficult to pinpoint the Wi-Fi issues without more information.

To help diagnose the problem, I’ll need a troubleshooting file. Since it contains private information, we’ll handle it on a separate platform. Instructions for accessing it have been sent to the email you registered with on this forum.

Did you have any specific configurations for your 5GHz wireless network?

Best regards,

Hi Marijus,

Thanks for your comments. While I‘ve submitted the details requested I was not contacted by anybody. In any case, I did a factory reset and created the setup again from scratch. Backup - like last time - did not work. Now everything works again.

No, I do not have any specific or unusual setup that I‘m aware of.

Thanks,
Michael

Hi,

I’m glad resetting the device helped solve the issue! If you have any other problems, feel free to reach out again.

Hi Marijus,

I was a bit too optimistic as it seems. Right after the factory reset the 5G wifi worked again. However, only for a short period of time. Now it is „dead“ again. I then did an upgrade to [
RUTX_R_00.07.07.3, tried various different settings, but I none of my devices see the 5G network anymore.

What I‘ve noticed however, is the the logs are full with this warning:

kern.warn kernel: [ 7141.585174] ath10k_ahb a000000.wifi: Invalid VHT mcs 15 peer stats

The 2.4 GHz wifi seems to work fine. I will try to do another factory reset but it seems something is wrong here. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks, Michael
