just had another 5G (NSA) issue. On band selection auto it resulted in a not working 5G connection. If I switch to 4G I get a working internet connection, albeit at low speed (2MB/s). On 5G it connects, but data traffic doesn’t work. Now if I disable the used 5G band in manual band selection I suddenly have a proper working 5G connection, even though it doesn’t show the connected 5G band at all. It is not 4G as the speed is much higher than on 4G only (30MB/s).
This whole issue is very baffling and probably related to the whole NSA mess, but sadly that’s what seems to be standard in germany.
I’d assume that, the funny part is that once it shows 5g bands at this location the connection is basically broken. Only if it doesn’t show them it works better. Other locations don’t have this problem, but there are others, like having to block a 4g band to have a stable 5g connection.
Neither my Pixel 6 pro nor my wife’s Galaxy S23 ultra have that kind of connection issues, same carrier. The only difference is that we are not using a data sim.
Updated the device to RUTX_R_00.07.08.1, the changes suggest something was wrong regarding 5g. Sadly I won’t be visiting the places where it was a known issue in the near future (router is installed in a RV)
