4in6 tunnel in RUTX12

Hello,
an ISP requires a 4in6 tunnel (RFC 2473) for IPv4 access, referencing a specific router brand/model in their docs.
I wonder if it can also be implemented on the RUTX12 via CLI. The starting point would be creating an interface in the network file, but I’m not sure if that protocol is supported.
Does anybody know anything about it?

Kind regards

I try with RUTX12… to be used at:

“ RFC 2473 (“Generic Packet Tunneling in IPv6 Specification”) defines the mechanism used by Hurricane Electric (HE) for their free IPv6 Tunnel Broker service to encapsulate IPv6 packets within IPv4 packets. “

But… I give up… and build a network topology, using openwrt (PcDuino v1) and RUTX12.

Actually I need the opposite (to encapsulate IPv4 within IPv6), but the substance doesn’t change, so I guess I must move to OpenWrt too.
And it’s sad, 'cause the Linux kernel module kmod-ip6tnl supports IPv4 over IPv6 (ip tunnel mode ipip6), but it’s not available for RUTX12.

Greetings,

As of now, our devices do not natively support generic IPv4-in-IPv6 (4in6) tunnels the same way typical OpenWrt packages do. As Marcelo suggested, you’ll have to opt for a different kind of option, such as the suggested use of an external device.

Hi Matas,
for now, I’ve settled on a NanoPi between the ONT and the RUTX12, as a workaround.
The purchase of my RUTX12 has been a good investmet, and if I could choose, I would prefer to buy a firmware update from Teltonika rather than add physical device.

Regards

Which is completely understandable, I wouldn’t be surprised if in the future this will get implemented within the firmware by our R&D, for that, keep an eye on the firmware changelogs.

Thank you,
M.
