Teltonika DashCam Video Triggers

Hello,

I am testing FMC125+DashCam and have a couple of questions about the video triggering:

  • My understanding is that DIN1 and DIN2 fire when input voltage changes. However, I was able to trigger DIN1 by saving the configuration in the configurator. I assume this is because saving the configuration restarts the module, causing the DIN1 voltage to rise on power-up. Since the voltage then remains constant, the trigger isn’t activated again until you cycle it low and high. Does this mean that, if DIN1 is activated, a video is always recorded when the ignition is turned on?

  • I know it is not possible to setup the FMC125 to periodically record and send videos. But would it be possible to record videos periodically by sending SMS messages?

Thank you for your attention.

Hello @joaben,

I hope you are doing well. Please find below my comments regarding your clarification.

  1. DIN1 would be activated if you have connected at least 7.5 V to it. Camera would be ON, depending on the Camera Scenario Mode. On Ignition - means it is dependent on Ignition, while Always - means regardless of whether Ignition is ON/OFF.

  1. Yes, you can send the camrequest command through SMS. For more information you may refer to this link: DualCam SMS commands - Teltonika Telematics Wiki

I hope this helps.

Best regards,
Patrick
