TD-BLE Sensor Not Connecting to FMB920 & No Data Transmission (MQTT AWS)— Need Setup Guidance

Dear Teltonika Team,

We are facing difficulties while trying to connect a TD-BLE fuel sensor to the FMB920 and transmitting data via MQTT. Below are the key issues and actions taken:

Current Issues:

  1. TD-BLE sensor is not detected during BLE scan in Teltonika Configurator.

  2. No GPS fix is obtained (even after 30+ minutes in open space), which seems to block data transmission.

  3. Although MQTT is configured, no data is being sent to AWS IoT MQTT broker.

  4. The device shows active BLE and GNSS modules, but data forwarding does not start.

Steps We Have Taken:

  1. Updated FMB920 to firmware version

  2. Enabled BLE scanning and tried multiple discovery attempts with TD-BLE nearby.

  3. Configured MQTT with correct AWS endpoint but no data is transmitted.

  4. Reset device and verified SIM connectivity and internet access.

  5. Followed documentation and forums, but unable to establish BLE sensor connection or data flow.

Request for Assistance:

  • Step-by-step instructions to pair TD-BLE with FMB920 and ensure data transmission.

  • Any specific BLE, GPS, or MQTT configurations required.

  • Troubleshooting steps if BLE devices are not discovered.

  • Sample configuration or video guide for TD-BLE + FMB920 + MQTT (AWS).

  • Confirmation if FMB920 can send sensor data to MQTT without GPS fix.

  • If we are missing any undocumented steps, please guide us.

We are stuck at this stage and would greatly appreciate detailed guidance.

Thank you.

We’re using Eskortnitsa TD-BLE fuel-level sensors with a different Teltonika model, but the configuration will be the same. There is no need to scan, just enter the MAC address (printed on the sensor) and data decoding schema as below:

In I/O, make sure to set the parameters, so your Teltonika device will send the fuel-level data. Otherwise it will collect but do nothing.

None - don’t send

Low - send together with other data as per your scheme in “Data Acquisition”

High - send every time a message is received from the TD-BLE

Panic - I think this tells the device to make a phone call/send SMS. I’ve never used it.

The default settings in “Data Acquisition” are very slow for stopped devices. The tracker may not send for up to one hour (3600 seconds).

You may wish to adjust the sending frequency.

About MQTT: have you tried testing with a different service? Maybe Ruhavik or similar, to see if the device is actually working.

  1. No GPS fix is obtained (even after 30+ minutes in open space), which seems to block data transmission.

Unless you’re on another planet, it should work. There haven’t been any recent major issues reported about GPS, GLONASS or other constellations.

Maybe the Teltonika device is upside down?
