TAT140 - set up by SMS

Hi all!

I’m looking to set up a TAT140 but being a Mac / OSX user I can’t use the configurator software - so am looking at doing a basic setup by SMS.

My use case is I want the TAT140 to sit pretty dormant unless activated to recovery mode via SMS.

I know I can set the APN / Server details via SMS using:

<2spaces>setparam2001:APN;2002:APN_username;2003:APN_password;2004:Domain;2005:Port;2006:0

So I’m thinking to set the position report to once a day and no activation on movement or stop.

But set the “I’m Alive” function for 3 hours to check if a “recovery mode” SMS has arrived. But I can’t work out how to activate this via SMS.

Anyone done similar or got any tips on a basic SMS set up for this type of use case?

Thanks!

Hello @ExploreVan.uk
Good day!

you can do it via SMS, however, it will take too much time for you, and the SMS will be a bit long,
from SMS, here is the Parameter list ID for the TAT140: TAT140 Parameter list - Teltonika Telematics Wiki

as per your requirement, you need to enable the I AM Alive feature only “setparam 242:1”
and for the configuration on one ping per day, I suggest you go with the schedule,
“setparam 184:2;2600:1;2601:1;2602:1;2603:1;2604:1;2605:1;2606:6”

That is fantastic, thank you for sharing - I’ll give it a try!

Then if I wanted to track I would send " recovery:1" to activate recovery mode and wait for it to wake up on the next connection?

Thanks for your help!

hello

yes exactly, when you need to start recovery mode, then send recovery:1, and when need to stop recovery:0

Thanks for your help! Unfortunatley when trying to activate “I am Alive” - “setparam 242:1” I get the response “Not support Param ID or Value not detected.”

So I am assuming the unit is on older firmware - I presume I can’t update the firmware without connecting it to a Windows Laptop?

I’ll have a think if I can do something similar to what I want with setting the parameters - unless you can think of something.
