Student project - questions about temperature sensors

Hello,

My name is Kritagya Panthi, and I am a student at NTNU (Norwegian University of Science and Technology). As part of a course, we are working on a project where we develop a fictional product and conduct a market analysis.

Our project focuses on the transport of temperature-sensitive goods such as blood, vaccines, and other medical products. We have been exploring the idea that there may be a gap in end-to-end temperature tracking during transport, particularly solutions that can provide temperature data per delivery throughout the entire transport chain, including intermediate storage and different transport stages.

I understand that Teltonika Telematics has such Bluetooth Temperature & Humidity Sensors, which are often used in these types of applications. I was therefore hoping you might be willing to share some insights.

Specifically, we were wondering:

  • What improvements would you like to see in such temperature sensors?

  • What are the typical profit margins for sensors like these?

  • How strong is price competition in this market?

  • Roughly how expensive are sensors typically in this category?

Any insights would be greatly appreciated and would help us a lot with our project. If you wish to discuss the topic privately, feel free to contact me at kritgya03@gmail.com.

Thank you very much for your time.

Best regards,
Kritagya Panthi

Hello @KriPa

Good day!

I will speak in general, not about the EYE sensor becouse it beats other BLE sensors in the market

  • What improvements would you like to see in such temperature sensors?

The first and not last is the range, and signal stability ()

  • What are the typical profit margins for sensors like these?

This is a financial question, and we don’t have an answer

  • How strong is price competition in this market?

very strong, especially with sensors coming from China

  • Roughly how expensive are sensors typically in this category?

NA
