Set up FMC003 remotely

I purchased an FMC003 and have got the device installed on one of my trucks and am not able to find clear instructions for the set up.

My aim is to ultimately be able to pull the data directly onto my computer via the server. Can this be done remotely (whilst I am in another country) or do I have to be in the same physical location as the device to set this up?

As per your requirement to receive data on your computer via a server, please note the following prerequisites:

  • A SIM card with an active international GPRS/data plan to allow the device to transmit data
  • A static IP address or domain with an open listening port, which must be configured in the device so it can send data to your server
  • A server capable of parsing the incoming data using the Codec 8 protocol
