Hi, @gmsmp ,
Thanks for reaching out and apologies for a delayed response. To help investigate this properly, could you clarify a few points:
- Which specific service/daemon are you referring to? (e.g. process name as it appears in
logread, such asport_eventsd,openvpn,dropbear,mwan3, etc.) This makes a difference — some daemons have their own independent verbosity/debug options separate from the system log level, so the answer may vary by service. - What are you trying to achieve - do you want that service to log less than the global level (e.g. suppress noisy entries from it while keeping notice elsewhere), or more (e.g. get debug-level detail from just that one service without raising the global level for everything else)?
- Is this tied to troubleshooting a specific problem with that service, or is it a general logging/monitoring preference? Context on what you’re trying to diagnose would help us point you to the right approach.
- How are you currently viewing the logs - WebUI (System → Maintenance → Events Log / System Log), CLI via
logread, or a remote syslog server? - Can you confirm whether you’re still on 07.22.3, or able to test on a newer firmware version if needed?
Once we know the specific service and goal, we can confirm whether it’s configurable and how.
Best regards,
V.
