Open box detection - eye sensor readings lost

Please provide a correct configuration for following error:

I have 8 to 20 eye sensor on a maximum 18 meters distance to a GH5200 device. Each eye sensor is placed on a plastic box. Each plastic box is on the back (open ceiling truck). On the cabin there is a GH5200 which will act as the gateway for a NAME configuration of the EYE SENSOR.

All eye sensors start their names with a nave vale as: “MULTIS”. On a test using 10 sensors we got 10 array readings the first 5 transmissions of the gateway.

We are currently parsing all data on the array each sensor is showing(parsing is not an issue).

PROBLEM: Some how after 5 to 10 minutes later we got only 8 readings and physically nothing changed. After 30 minutes we got only 5 readings. And after 1 hour only 4. All sensors have the same configuration on Power and battery is new on all of them. On this scenario we are loosing data.

Hello @ironman,

I hope you are doing well. Could you help to provide information about the settings in which you have set on the Eye Application for each of the Eye Sensors?

Meanwhile, on the readings from the device were you observing specific Eye Sensors only? Is it the same Eye Sensor were reporting and the other Eye Sensors not received by the device?

Looking forward to your response so we can further assist you

Kind regards,
Patrick S.

I am using one GH5200 receiving all posible readings from 6 different eyesensors. Parsing is not the problem. Following picture is what I have received in Flespi on my ble.beacons array.

however, about 4 to 8 minutes later, I only receive 3 or 4 of the total 6 sensors I got before. Looks like the eye sensors are disconnected eventhough they still at the same place.

Follows my configs on the android Eye Sensor App. All the 6 sensors have latest firmware (1.2.10 rev4) and also they are working as EYE sensor at 2db power mode

Question#1 Is there any way to keep reading all the sensors every 10 seconds and send their data (angle pitch - roll and temperature) without loosing any on range sensor’s data?

Question#2 Which will be right setup on power transmition on Eye Sensor and GH5200 to have a 18 meters distance reading?

These are the settings @Patrick_Sangalang

I need to read all of them and detect any opening (pitch and roll) variance data. Each sensor will be placed on a plastic box. The truck driver will be wearing a GH5200 and the tracking device will send all readings from all posible boxes on the truck (20 boxes as maximun) if one box is opened (pitch or roll values will change) our parsing algorithm on our cloud server will trigger a notification or alarm. That is the use case.

Hello @ironman,

Thank you for your detailed response. Please find below my comments regarding your clarifications.

Question#1 Is there any way to keep reading all the sensors every 10 seconds and send their data (angle pitch - roll and temperature) without losing any on-range sensor data?

  • Yes you may configure the Eye Sensors as per your Advertising Interval settings to every 10 seconds however the sensors seem to be in different places based on the distance received on the Eye Application which could be the reason why the other Eye Sensors were not detected by GH5200. (see screenshot below)

Question#2 Which will be right setup on power transmition on Eye Sensor and GH5200 to have a 18 meters distance reading?

  • I recommend to adjust the Eye Sensor Settings in which it was not recognized by the GH5200 either increasing the Power Signal settings or decreasing the advertising interval settings based on which is the optimum setting as per your setup. However, this may affect the battery life of the Eye Sensor.

Moreover, you may enable the Pitch and Roll through the GH5200 Configurator using the latest Firmware version where you may access as per the link provided below.

I hope this helps.

Hi Patrick

I am using 55.03.00 rev03 - however same result. BLE CONTROL function discovers all sensors. But on the NAME feature (added or not in the list) device does not send data. MAC address setting only allows 4 sensors, I need 20 at maximun but still not working.

Data received on array at event ID: 11317 (none)
