Omnicomm LLS4 fuel sensor not detected via RS485 (RJ45) on Teltonika FMC650

Hello Teltonika Team and Community,

I would like to request assistance regarding fuel sensor integration with Teltonika FMC650.

Device & Sensor Details

  • Tracker: Teltonika FMC650
  • Fuel Sensor: Omnicomm LLS4
  • Additional Sensor: Ligo BLE Fuel Sensor
  • Connection: RS485 (directly connected via RJ45 port)
  • Power Supply: External 12V (stable)

Connection Description

  • Omnicomm LLS4 is connected directly to the FMC650 RJ45 RS485 interface
  • RS485 A and B lines are connected correctly (polarity tested)
  • Sensor is powered and calibrated
  • No external converter is used

Configuration & Tests Performed

  1. RS485 interface enabled on FMC650.

  2. RS485 communication mode selected.

  3. Tried different baudrate settings.

  4. Tried different sensor IDs.

  5. Firmware updated to the latest version.

  6. Device works normally (GPS, IO, data transmission OK).

Issue Description

  • Fuel level data from Omnicomm LLS4 is not received
  • No fuel sensor values appear in records
  • RS485 data seems not to be detected at all
  • Multiple attempts were made, but the sensor remains unread

Questions

  1. Is direct RS485 connection via RJ45 between FMC650 and Omnicomm LLS4 supported?

  2. Does FMC650 support native Omnicomm RS485 protocol?

  3. Is any additional hardware or converter required to read Omnicomm LLS4?

  4. Are there any specific RS485 settings required for this sensor?

  5. Is Ligo BLE fuel sensor supported by FMC650?

Hi,

Omnicomm LLS 4 can be connected to the FMC650 via RS-485.

The FMC650 supports the Omnicomm RS-485 LLS protocol directly and does not require any additional hardware converter.

On the sensor side, please configure the baud rate and sensor address.

In the FMC650 RS-485 settings, select LLS mode and configure the same baud rate and sensor address as set on the sensor.

Please refer to the wiki page below for RS-485 LLS connection details, and ensure that the ground connection is properly connected.

Best regards,
Naveen
