OEM fuel level showing weird value

My Teltonika FMC003 is reporting weird (OEM) fuel level values which I can’t make sense of. My car is a Mercedes C-Class mk4 (W205) (2015-2019) which is found in the compatibility list and appears in the configuration options.

My fuel tank capacity is 66 litres and according to Mercedes Me cloud service (right picture) it is 53% full and this also aligns with my the fuel gauge on the car dashboard. So doing the maths, it should have about 35 litres in the tank.

However, the Teltonika FMC003 is reporting 78 litres (left picture). I’ve tested a few different scenarios but I cannot figure out what is going on. The ODB fuel number (litres x 0.1) reported by the FMC003 is illogical.

Note, the OEM mileage (11,5537 km) is correctly reporting. The issue is only with the OEM fuel level.

Looking forward to some guidance and help.

This is how the ODB data appears directly from the Teltonika Configurator app. You will note the OEM Fuel Level is shown as 779 (Lx10). In my application I am dividing by 10, which is rounded to 78 litres.

That said, my fuel tank only has a 66 litre fuel capacity. The FMC003 is reporting more fuel than the tank can actually hold

I’ve captured device logs and I can see the correct OEM ODB file was pushed Mercedes-Benz;c 220;2014;mb_w205,mb_w204 and therefore it looks to be configured correctly. However, it still doesn’t report correct numbers.

I’ve done this before and again now, however no one ever seems to respond to these online requests from Teltonika. They are generally ignored.

May I request that you follow up with your technical department to ensure a ticket is raised?

Hi Maynard,
I can provide all of this information, however I don’t want to share my personal data in a public forum. Please message me directly or respond to my “contact us” request.
Thanks

Hi @leo433 , @tshirt

Good day, apologies for the inconvenience. Kindly reach out to the company from which you purchased the device. They will be able to create a Helpdesk ticket and contact us directly on your behalf.

Helpdesk ticket created, however the technical person in support is absolutely clueless about the issue. They were asking to upgrade the firmware to a non-existent version, extremely poor service.

May I request that someone with knowledge of the product investigates this issue?

Thank you,

Hello,

If the helpdesk ticket is created, please provide the helpdesk ID.

Thank you

Best Regards
