I have a brand new FMB122, that is not responding to SMS messages at all.
Firmware: 03.29.00-21 (newest)
Configuration: 10.0.0.0
SIM card has no PIN code
SIM card works from phone without any issues (Apple Pro Max 13)
SIM card is installed as lower SIM1 (no upper SIM2 is used/installed)
The Telco (Norway) is “Chili Mobile”. They are using “Telia” as the primary network.
I have been using FMB120 and FMB122 for years without any issues, so I do understand the FMB usage details in general.
The unit is new, because the previous FMB122 did behave in the same way (no SMS response).
From “Reset configuration” I do the following:
- Reboot device
- Enter keyword (xxxx) => Ok
- Checking both LED’s are blinking
- Status.GSM Info.Modem Status => Modem On
- Status.GSM Info.SIM State => Ready
- Status.GSM Info.GPRS Status => Deactivated
- SMS \ Call Settings.SMS Commands => Login and Password are Empty
- Sending “__getinfo” ( getinfo) from my phone. “_” is space and quotes are not added
- No reply is received and the SMS is queued by the phone operator and not accepted/read at all by the FMB122. This is verified by moving the SIM card to a phone, whereas the SMS’es are received to the phone. Clearly the FMB do not accept the inbound SMS at all.
Then I do add my phone number to the “SMS \ Call Settings.Authorized Numbers” list as “+47953NNNNN” (Norway) and test again:
0. Execute a “Save to device”
The same procedure as 1 to 9 above is repeated
=> No response at all and SMS’s are not read by the FMB122
Then I do add login creds to the “SMS \ Call Settings.SMS Commands.Login + Password” and test again:
0. Execute a “Save to device”
1-9: The same procedure as above is repeated, except for 8:
=> 8. Sending “Kay_hubbe_getinfo” (Kay hubbe getinfo) from my phone. “_” is space and quotes are not added
=> No response at all and SMS’s are not read by the FMB122
Appearantly the FMB does not accept the SMS messages at all, and as they are not read the content/command is not interpreted either. Is this a faulty device (not likely as two devices behave the same way) or a Telco compatability issue or? What to do?
Thanks!
