Modbus Slave Integration on FMX devices

Hi, understand if we need to read the register from modbus devices we will require to send a Codec12 command to the device from the server side.

For device like FMB/C640 with RS485 and RS232 interface, is it possible to send the Codec12 through RS232 to the device, meaning I would place another device connected to the FMB/C640 via RS232 to send the Codec12 command.

Is that something that supported as I do not want the command to send over network as it is not stable and the command may not received if there is network disruption.
