Issue with dynamic load balancing - Carlo Gavazzi EM111

I am using the TeltoCharge 7.4 kwh charging station.

I also installed the Carlo Gavazzi EM111-DIN.AV8.1.X.S1.X meter using a UTP cable.

  1. I connected the meter using the series 1 schema https://wiki.teltonika-energy.com/view/EM_and_ET_models but it does not connect. I tried automatic search and manual using all the prams (default ones but I also double checked them on the meter: baud rate, parity bit, etc) .
  2. I suspect the meter connection diagram for series 1 on teltonika website (posted above) is incorrect. See figure 5 on https://www.gavazziautomation.com/fileadmin/images/PIM/DATASHEET/ENG/EM111%20DS%20ENG%20170616.pdf So I also tried the connection according to the data sheet with both mod bus termination (connection pin 5-8) and without it. But no luck. It still does not connect.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Is it a software bug?

I managed to make it work.

What was required:

  1. Use the EM111 datasheet connection schema (not what Teltonika suggests on the EM111 installation page)
  2. Swap A and B

Hence the final cable connection was:

5&8 meter←→ B charger

6 meter←→ A charger

7 meter←→ GND charger
