Getting current configuration from FMC920

Hi to all!
I have a question for which I haven’t found a clear answer…
I got a FMC920 that has been set up by a retail dealer who also does the tracking of the device and I use their service.
Since the device has some in/out ports I want to test some functions. The dealer gave me the permission to test it, gave me the number for sending SMS and the rest…
Now, I would like to connect to it via Bluetooth and use the Configurator app on my laptop but as far as I see when I start the Configurator I can either make a new configuration or open a config file.
I do not want to connect and erase the current configuration on the device.
So is there a way of getting that configuration or will the Configurator maybe pull the configuration once I connect to the device and fill it to the new configuration?

Thanks!

Hi @dedabrane

Good day, yes you can save the current configuration file of your device.

Click the Save to file from the configurator and locate where you want to save the configuration file.

If you want to load the previous configuration file please click load from file and save to device.

Please find this wiki page for the universal testing guide.

Hi @Maynard ,

i think you probably didn’t understand my question or I phrased it wrong, sorry for that…

My concern is that the current configuration that is stored on the device will be erased to default when I connect the Configurator to device for the first time…
There is no function like “Load from device”… or am I getting it wrong?

Thanks!

Hello,

The device will not remove its current config when you connect it to the configurator,
If you want to save the device configuration file, follow the steps that I have provided above then you can modify the device configuration without worrying that the previous config is being overwritten.

Load from the device will only be visible if the device is connected to the configurator, if the device is not connected it will not be available.
