An issue has been observed with the Ignition ON Counter feature on FTC887 devices running firmware 3.7.3.
Issue description
An initial value is configured in Ignition ON Counter Value (ID: 13501)
After applying the configuration through FOTA WEB, the configured value is correctly reflected in the messages sent to the Primary Server.
However, when the ignition status changes to ON, the configured value is reset and the counter starts again from zero.
Comparison with other devices
The same configuration was tested on:
-
FMC880
-
FMC003
On both models, the feature works as expected:
-
The Ignition ON Counter feature can be enabled.
-
An initial Ignition ON Counter Value can be configured.
-
The configured value is preserved when ignition changes to ON.
-
The counter continues incrementing from the configured initial value.
This suggests that the issue may be specific to the FTC887 firmware or to the implementation of Parameter ID 13501 on this model.
Expected behavior
The configured Ignition ON Counter Value on FTC887 should be preserved when the ignition changes to ON, and counting should continue from the configured value instead of restarting from zero.
Request for verification
Since the same behavior is consistently reproduced on multiple FTC887 units, this should be relatively straightforward to reproduce using a standard FTC887 running firmware 3.7.3.
It would be helpful if Teltonika could verify this functionality directly on a factory-standard FTC887 and confirm whether:
-
this is a known firmware issue,
-
the behavior is expected,
-
a workaround is available, or
-
a firmware fix exists or is planned.
Thanks,
