Before I give up and send the device back, i just wanted to try power of forums and see, if I got the “right tool” for my requirements.
So, after positive answers to my questions, I bought FTC164 device. Got it up and working. Went through the settings. Installed my own Traccar server. Took me 5 minutes. Added push notifications, later some more stuff.. it was all easy. Tested the events on the thing i found the easiest to trigger - Ignition on and off by accelerometer. It works no problem, i receive notifications, coordinates are sent eventually, i see location of the device… but that is where the fun ends, because nothing else works as I want it to work. I don’t yet know why. But here is the thing: I want to install this device into towable caravan. As for ignition on/off my idea was to hide a switch or later use sone proximity sensor, etc… sound easy. But 100% more important than that (to me, at least) is an early alarm detection. Lets pretend the thieve arrives. He could have maybe observed the trailer before, etc. First thing he would need to do, is to take the caravan off its jack stands and then couple the trailer to tow it away. That could be one of the best early alarms, that either angle has changed or vibration detected, etc. The ignition is still off, nothing is yet moving. But gives me several more minutes to get there and maybe catch the thieve in action.
So, there is no way on earth for me to figure out if something this simple is possible with FTC164 or not? Believe me, i have tried everything i was able to find. But there is nothing to be found, if nothing from axisZ (when it exits the set range) is being sent to Traccar. I see nothing in server logs. I have disabled all sleeps, put everything i could to almost instant, set all possible priorities to high. It just simply isnt working. Maybe I am on the wrong forum, but as far as i was able to check, traccar is not receiving those angle changes as events.
