I have the FMT100 and I’m following this guide:
FMT100 Getting Started with AWS IoT Core - Wiki Knowledge Base | Teltonika GPS (teltonika-gps.com)
I got to the point where it told me to select Codec JSON as my data protocol pictured below:
But when I tried to select that, on my configurator I didn’t have the option for it as pictured below:
Then I noticed this line at the top:
For firmware supporting MQTT please contact your sales manager or contact directly via Teltonika Helpdesk.
So now I’m assuming I have to download some more firmware that allows me to use this, does anyone know if this is the ca se and if so where I can find this firmware?
Good day! The FMT100 that supports MQTT Protocol uses different Firmware version, however we do not share firmware files/updater and other files in the community forum.
To receive firmware files, updater and documentation on devices, please contact your sales manager. If you don’t have any contacts with our Sale managers, please contact with them on our official website https://teltonika-gps.com/ and click on the “Contact Us” button. When you will click, please fill the form and submit it.
Note: as a topic, please choose “Vehicle Telematics”.
Or you can send an e-mail with description of your situation to email@example.com
I hope this helps.
I emailed firstname.lastname@example.org, and they did not get back to me with the firmware, instead they came back asking me a bunch of questions about my company, address and contact details, then they passed this on to a representative of Wialon who has emailed me asking a lot more questions about my specific use case. It seems they are trying to get me to use Wialon’s cloud solutions instead of just providing the firmware, which isn’t useful to me because I want to develop my own cloud solution.
Any idea how I can just get this firmware without having to jump through these hoops?
