What’s the difference between LVCAN and FMS IO? How do I read mileage from the odometer in the FMC650?

LVCAN requires and external CAN adapter while FMS is the built-in CAN supported by the device on vehicles that follow J1939 Protocols (mostly found on Heavy vehicles such as Trucks).
You may fetch the Odometer value through the Tachograph Data and prioritize the FMS parameter so that you can see if you are able to get the Mileage readings.
