- What is the purpose of “The 1-wire enabled in DS and ODS”? Could it be used to authorize driver when the tracker is in DS?
- There is an option “Bluetooth On While In Sleep”. If iBeacon comes and the tracker is in Deep Sleep, would it authorize the driver only after the tracker is waken up from the deep sleep? If, for example, iBeacon is transmitting every 10s, theoretically you couldn’t start the vehicle for up to 10s after turning on the ignition? Or it would authorize the driver even while in deep sleep?
- If DIN3 is selected as “Ignition Source”, would the following scenarios work?
a. Momentary switch is connected to DIN3. After switch is pressed, ignition value quickly goes to 1 and back to 0 since it’s momentary switch. It would wake up the tracker, but still, DOUT for authorization would be inactive since ignition = 0? Or it would still have DOUT activated for some x time?
b. Momentary switch is pressed and kept pressed (ignition = 1) while iButton is used to authenticate. After authentication, switch is released. “Ignition Off Timeout” in this case would allow the driver to start the car. Is this right? - Magnetic iButton is used and left on the 1-wire reader. iButton is only removed when there is a need to “enable” the immobiliser scenario. Would the immobiliser be disabled if iButton is left on the reader, or there is some kind of limitation?
Hello
1- usualy, the 1-wire function is active in operating and GPS sleep mode only, in this new option, you can control if you need it to be active in the DS and ODS
2- this option is designed to save power during sleep modes by turning the BT module, therefore, if you leave it enabled, then the device will recognize the Beacon even if the device is in sleep mode
3- usually, we don’t connect the Din (ignition) to the Momentary switch, it needs a stable power voltage, therefore, I suggest you check for another ignition source and connect the Din3 to it,
Option B is the correct one,
4- yes, correct, but it is not about disabling, the scenario is working, but because you left the IButton on the 1 wire reader, then the authentication is always valid and the device will not change the Dout status to a high-level until 2 conditions to be valid:
- no authentication >> no driver ID is attached
- Ignition changed from 0 to 1
