As posted somewhere else FMM130 does not come with DOUT activation via call although noted otherwise here.
I am now looking into changing over to FMC130 or FMC230/234.
As I do not trust the feature lists in the wiki and pdf manuals anymore, can somebody please confirm:
Do all come with the following features:
DOUT control via call
DOUT control via ignition
4G LTE
Towing detection
Jamming detection (both)
unplug detection
crash detection
immobilizer
and finally is the FC234 just a FC230 with larger battery pack (1000mAh)
the FMC234 so far works a treat. It can be called for switching, Immobilizer Scenario works (basically), tracking works etc.
So far I ticked thoe following boxes:
DOUT control via call - works
DOUT control via ignition - works
4G LTE - works
Towing detection - works
Jamming detection (both)
unplug detection
crash detection
immobilizer - works (with iButtons)
The rest so far ist subject to be tested, in case of Jamming and crash kinda tricky. As wel las SEDO immobilisation.
Quick questions:
I had the current consumption down to ~10mA @12V on the bench in deep sleep, wake up/ Ignition source set to accelerometer.
With the 1000mAh Battery this should last ~100 hours… I had battery 100% charged, “unplugged” (as a thief would do) and laid it down still for ~8h over night.
Next day I then took it with me in my car, drove to work for ~1.5h, took it into the office, where it again was laying still for ~4h hours until I drove home. So ~12h of lying still and ~3h of movement.
To my suprise on my way home the device dropped out being empty as it turned out (battery 0%).
Why is time on battery that short?
I was expecting way longer to survive on battery. Up to a week maybe with the large Battery.
second:
Can I connect to the device and make settings via BT and smart phone (Teltonika configurator on Android??) Especially in a car and on trips this is way more convinient than carrying around Windows laptops.
The battery will not last for 1 week it depends on the device configuration, and on how frequently the device is sending records to the server. FMC230 and FMC234 are not an asset tracker the battery is only designed for backup purposes.
Please find the screenshot below for the device power consumption:
