FMC003 stopped sending data

Hello,

we have 200+ FMC003 devices and upgraded some (30+) to fw 4.01.

after the upgrade they worked fine but all of them stopped sending data after some weeks and then dont send any data again. the devices with fw 3.29 are still working as expected. now we need to downgrade the devices from fw 4.01 back to fw 3.29. how can we do the downgrade because the downgrade is blocked now ?

the problems we encountered are discussed many times here on the forum but there is still no solution, we tried everything from device reset, sim card change, ..

eg. thread: FMC003 Data sending issues - Telematics - Teltonika Community

thanks a lot

Hello,

The issue requires further analysis. Firmware downgrade from Base 04 can only be performed by flashing the device. Instead of downgrading, an updated firmware may be used to resolve the issue.

To investigate the problem and provide the appropriate solution/ firmware, the device logs/dumps will be required. Please contact your Teltonika Sales Manager to raise a Helpdesk ticket. An engineer will then assist you with debugging and resolving the issue.

Thanks,

BR,

How can we flash the firmware? Or is there a new firmware coming we can Beta?

I was wondering about the same thing.

A firmware solution can be suggested once we have a clear understanding of the issue and its root cause.

Let me clarify: out of the 200 devices, only 30 devices were updated and are currently showing the issue, correct? Are the remaining 170 devices working fine?

Could you please confirm the exact firmware version (4.01) you are referring to? Is it 04.01.00.Rev.13?

We may need to download logs and dumps from the affected devices for further analysis. I recommend contacting your Teltonika Sales Manager to have a ticket raised through the Partner Portal so that our technical team can investigate the issue in detail.

I have submitted multiple tickets on your help desk via the website and almost 3 months with no response. I can provide logs

Why is support so bad, still don’t have a working FMC003… it’s been 4 month’s, lots of support tickets not a single response, and support here has been none existent

From v04 this issue has been present and device will not send any data, have tested two SIM cards both of which work in phone. Even when GPRS context says activated, data still doesn’t send. I spoke to the supplier (they do not have a sales manager)I bought the device from and they tested on one of there devices, confirmed working fine on v03 then updated to v04 and the device has stopped sending data to their server..

Please can you provide some support

Hello Don16,

i have the same problem but with 30 devices.
After upgrading to the latest firmware i resetted them to factory defaults and created a new config file (FW4). the devices worked fine for a few days then suddenly stopped sending data. even after another reset to factory default and reconfiguration they never started sending data again. I think i found a solution to make the devices sending data again. i tried updating the devices to the latest firmware but instead of looading a FW4 config file or manually configure them i loaded a FW3 config file then the devices started to send data again. still dont know how long this will last.

I almost guarantee it’s nothing to do with what you done and it’s a bug in the firmware, I give it less than 2 weeks before they stop sending again. I had mine working two times since latest firmware and both time’s it’s stopped working in under 10 days. At present I haven’t managed to get it working again. I have tried various configs, fresh configs, v04.12 and v04.13 fw, multiple SIM cards. Nothing has worked.

The company I purchased this from (LinITX) had a working FMC001 (previously working on v03) which they upgraded to v04 as a test, and they have told me they are now experiencing same issues I reported with no longer able to send data.

Hi, We have the same issue.

I have found that after swapping the SIM the device started sending data. My guess is that the carrier/ network black list/ white list is the issue. I tried several times, and only 1 network is working here.

The device still sends data extremely slowly. The device is always a couple of days behind, hardly updates a couple of times a day.

Same hardware/ firmware issue, used both V04 sets available on the website. Devices on FW v03 works fine with any SIM

Still working for you? I have tried multiple network SIM cards and dealt with one provider who has said it’s not blacklisted

Just to report back. I have gone with a simbase IOT sim and tracker is currently working again.

So maybe Vodafone and Three have done something to block the GPS trackers from communicating after a grace period.

See logs, same logs were being generated on both three and Vodafone SIMs.
