FMC003 looses satelliteles as soon as ignition on

I’m attaching my traccar report with number of satellites.

I use FMC003 in BMW iX EV in OBD port. It fails to report data because apparently it looses the FIX as soon as I start the car. Everything seem to work of if I just disconnect it from OBD and lay on dashboard.

What could be the reason ?

Continuing to investigate a problem. Looks like a wider problem to aquire a gps fix.

This morning I unplugged the FMC003 before starting the vehicle. All the satellites disappeared and nothing was reported for the whole drive.

How common is it that FMC003 is not receiving GPS fix because of the location of OBD port?

Hi @Vpozniy,

Good day! Could you check if you have enabled some Sleep Modes on the device?

Also, which Firmware version you were using? Can you try using the FMX003 Latest Firmware and see if the same issue persists?

Hello there,

The latest firmware is used. I attached thru the extension cable and put the tracker on the dashboard - everything worked fine. Also tested the tracker in Audi Q vehicle, no issues there. Really looks like the BMW iX OBD port placement and the metal parts around is the issue…
