FMC 640 Unexpected Driver State Change in Tachograph Data

Hello everyone,

I am currently working with a Teltonika FMC640 device and have encountered an unusual situation in the recorded tachograph data. I have noticed that, within a very short time span (less than a minute), the driver’s status changes as follows:

  1. Driving (D) – The vehicle is in motion, and the tachograph correctly detects the driver as driving.
  2. Working (W) – Shortly after, the status unexpectedly switches to “Working” while the vehicle is still moving.
  3. Driving (D) – Then, it returns to “Driving” again.

This sequence seems unrealistic because it is unlikely that a driver would manually switch the status from “Driving” to “Working” while actively driving, only to switch back immediately.

I am wondering if this could be caused by:

  • A misconfiguration or calibration issue with the FMC640.
  • A sensor glitch or data transmission problem.
  • A software-related issue with the tracking system.

Has anyone else experienced similar inconsistencies? Could this be an issue related to the way Teltonika FMC640 processes and interprets tachograph data?

Any insights or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
