FMB920 stuck on firmware 01.03.13 – "Not Supported" in Configurator

Hello everyone,

I’ve recently acquired a second-hand FMB920 tracker for development purposes. After a long struggle with USB drivers on my environment, I finally managed to connect it, but I hit a brick wall.

The issue: The device is running a very old firmware: 01.03.13. Because of this, the latest Teltonika Configurator (and TCT Desktop) identifies the device but shows it as “Not Supported”. I cannot enter any settings menu, I cannot load/save configuration, and I cannot access the update tab to flash it to a newer version.

What I need: Since I bought this device used, I don’t have access to a direct distributor or a VIP Helpdesk account.

  1. Could someone share a legacy version of the Configurator that is compatible with the 01.xx.xx firmware branch?

  2. Or, if possible, could you provide a bridge firmware file (.wfm) and instructions on how to force-flash it from 01.03.13 to a modern 03.xx.xx version?

Device Details:

  • Model: FMB920

  • Current FW: 01.03.13

  • Connection: USB (COM Port is working fine)

I would appreciate any help or links to the firmware errata for this specific old version.

Hi,

Good Day,

Please note that the firmware currently installed on your device is old (approximately 9 years old). To upgrade it to the latest version, a step-by-step upgrade process must be followed.

Since such older firmware versions are not available on the public wiki or general release pages, you will need to create a support ticket. Through the support portal, the required intermediate firmware files and the firmware updater application can be provided to you.

This process is necessary to ensure a smooth and successful upgrade to the latest firmware version.

Thanks

Ashutosh S.
