I have connected my FMB204 to the lighter of the car, so that it charges only when ignition is on (to prevent draining my car battery). However, the charging speed seem to be VERY SLOW, so on average, the device battery voltage goes down. Nothing else is connected to the lighter.
To be specific:
When unplugged, the device loses 0.2mV/hr
When ignition is on and the device is charging, the device loses 0.1mV/hr (indicative).
So, even if it remains plugged in, the device will eventually discharge.
The response is the same, but if I bypass the lighter circuit, it will keep charging after I turn off the ignition (which will eventually drain the car battery).
In order to keep it charged, I am taking it at home from time ti time, and charge it using a 220V/12V transformer. But this is not a viable solution.
