FMB001 Devices Stuck on “SIM Initializing” – Suspected Modem Fault

I have four FMB001 units from the same batch. Two of them are working correctly, but the other two are permanently stuck on “SIM status: Initializing.”

Troubleshooting already performed:

  • Tested with multiple known-working SIM cards

  • Verified SIMs work in other FMB001 devices

  • Confirmed power supply is stable and identical across devices

  • SIM orientation and contact pressure verified

  • ICCID, operator name, and signal are not detected

  • Device never progresses beyond “Initializing”

Since identical units with the same SIMs and configuration work properly, it appears these two devices may have defective or non-responsive cellular modems.

Please advise next steps

Hello,

are you running the latest firmware on the two defective devices? If not, try updating. Re-writing the OS may solve filesystem corruption, if there is any.
