Hi Members,

If anyone is still using FMA120 - TimeStamp - 01.21.XX, please note that it is no longer working – no satellite position is available.
Teltonika is already aware of the issue.

Solution:
Upgrade your devices to FMA1YX.01.27.32.Rev.4.e using FOTA Desktop (v3.4.6.).

//Added:
We updated some devices but CFG. is lost. Be aware of it.

We updated to a new version without success, even up to 01.28.07.Rev.00

Hello, can someone tell me what format the SMS should have for sending a configuration file using FOTA Desktop? Or is there a specific procedure?

I think it will be impossible to send the complete CFG via SMS. Remember that, after the update, the SMS password/user is lost.

Teltonika says “No” but I think is the the most simple way to do it. We are using ModemCOM/G10.

For a single update, we had to try 4–6 times. Maybe on the 7th attempt the device will update. It is very time-consuming work.

For updating you need to follow this:

01.24.13 → FMA1YX.01.27.32.Rev.4.e.CFW + CFG will be default

01.28.07 → FMA1YX.01.27.32.Rev.4.e.CFW + CFG will be default

If it is not the exact same version, the device will become completely unresponsive. A physical replacement will be required.

Yes, this is a serious issue. We face it (“once”) a year, and it is clearly a bug that Teltonika should have anticipated. It consumes a significant amount of time, and physical replacement of the devices is not an option as they are located 1000 km away.

Is it still possible to buy this modem somewhere? It has been discontinued in Teltonika.

As an alternative, you can use an FM11xy or FM36 device as a modem.

Please clarify this. The firmware update should be done in this order:

Any other FMA1YX version → 01.24.13 → FMA1YX.01.27.32.Rev.4.e.CFW + CFG will be default

or

Any other FMA1YX version → 01.28.07 → FMA1YX.01.27.32.Rev.4.e.CFW + CFG will be default

Now for the devices out in the field how can I procure FOTA Desktop (v3.4.6.) ?

I’m from Lusaka, Zambia and these devices were purchased almost 10 years ago directly from Teltonika HQ.

And I don’t have a current distributor, kindly help we have about 80 devices down because of the same issue.

Hi Maximous,

For FOTA Desktop, you will need a license from Teltonika. When you install the program, it generates a hardware (HW) code. You then submit this HW code to Teltonika, and they will provide a license key for it, allowing you to use the program.

You can obtain the license code through the Teltonika Helpdesk: https://helpdesk.teltonika-iot-group.com/.

However, it’s best to first contact a Teltonika distributor before proceeding.
