I’ve been after an answer on this question for months now, and between 3 different sales managers I have not received even a hint of whether this is possible.
We have been testing this combo for some months and have not found any way to successfully trigger a remote download of photos or videos, apart from the very rudimentary and seemingly unreliable uploading at regular intervals / green driving. Your video, at around 0:40 rather directly suggests that a remote trigger is in fact possible, but we have not been able to get confirmation or guidance on this from anyone we have access to at Teltonika. Your sales managers seem very keen to sell us units, but they seem completely unable to get the info we need to get this working.
The closest I got was mention of the possibility of getting fimrware upgrades to get better functionality, again our sales managers have not responded to this once.
Your hardware is great, but it is tragic how badly the hardware is limited by your fimrware. I wish there was a way to get to someone who could give more guidance here. We are at the point of neglecting our long standing loyalty with Teltonika in favour of one of your competitors who seem much more willing to engage with their clients in constructive ways.
You can also request assistance for dual cam testing through your sales manager, If you don’t have any contacts with our Sales managers, please contact them on our official website https://teltonika-gps.com/ and click on the “Contact Us” button. When you will click, please fill out the form and submit it. Note: as a topic, please choose “Vehicle telematics”. Or you can send an e-mail with the description of your situation to us: Teltonika - IoT, Internet of Things.
Maynard, I appreciate you taking the time to answer my query. I don’t know why the three separate sales managers I had contact with were completely unable to send me the info you did.
@Maynard , I’ve set up a windows server and receive photos successfully. The SMS commands to request photo and video is getting the better of me however.
When sending the request SMS in the format provided on your info page (camreq:0,1,1624960616,5,212.59.13.226,7160) I keep getting “Error: Invalid Domain argument in camera request cmd!”
I tried my own ip address as is, in quotes, left it out completely - keep on getting the same response. What am I doing wrong?
camgetver responds with V2.2.3 on both cameras, my FMC125 is running on firmware version 03.27.13 rev. 662. DIN1 is constantly HIGH for testing, but no video ever transmits to the server. See my settings below.
When requesting video from an FMC125 with Dualcam I keep getting this response: “Video request from source 3 for 1 seconds since 2023-10-30 16:30:52. Another footage upload is already in progress”
This happens regardless of how long I leave it without requests, after power cycling the tracker and Dualcam, watching the receiving server making sure there are no pending uploads.
I’m using the windows based server software I found on one the your Wikihow pages. Does this software allow for retrieval of video from a Dualcam?
No matter what we do, we keep seeing this response from the Dualcam when trying to trigger remote video upload. After weeks of testing we’ve not been able to successfully trigger a single video upload. Photos come through fine.
This after rebooting the FMC125 and Dualcam, checked that cameras status’ are 3, checked SD cards, disabled all photo uploads to clear the way for videos only. Keep getting the same response.
