I hope you are doing well. Unfortunately, DOUT Control via call was not available on BG95-M3/BG96 modem(FMM device ) devices. Suggesting you test this specific device if you require the DOUT control via call functionality, otherwise, you may send an SMS/GPRS command to manually activate the DOUT of the device for a specific time.
Well - this is a pity. Decision was taken as documentary that is online states FMM130 can provide this feature (online Wiki as well as pdf Documents in several places).
Please correct the documentation here.
After searching for some hours weather or not the FMM130 device can do it, I ordered it.
I don’t understand why functionality is different from FMB130 devces here.
As I require 4G - 2G will be switched off in Germany some time soon - the FMM130 Choice was choosen over FMB or FMC device for my RV.
I would like to control a heater by call ideally?
For a solution:
SMS is possible and this does work as I tried it out. FMM130 replies with SMS back to sender (setdigout command successful) which creates running cost.
It’s a bit more convienent to just call low priority events like “diesel heater” FMM DOUT (phone redial) other than sending more cryptic SMS commands, although of course this is also possible, but has the SMS confirmation cost…
Would it be possible to recommend a device with 4G LTE Cat M1, same small formfactor, 3 DOUTs and DOUT Control via Phonecall for at least one of them?
Furthermore is it possible that the FMM130 replies to an SMS send not using SMS reply for low priority events (…or use GPRS messaging instead)?
