Hello. Just installed TeltoCharge EVC12110. Purchased and installed Carlo Gavazzi EM341. The meter seems to be functional (the display shows all info as expected).
Connected the meter by Cat7 shielded cable (about 30 meters), used blue, green and orange on both sides exactly as the connection found on telto-wiki ( green to 10, blue to 9, orange to 8 on meter and then green to gnd, red to A and blue to B on station)
No matter what I do the station is not recognizing the meter. Performed FW update on the station right after the installation.
Tried auto detect and manual setup with Meter ID 1, Baud 9600, no parity and stop bit 1.
One thing that bothers me is that the app only shows EM340 and I have EM341 - checked the specs they are the same model essentially, same modbus registers maps, etc …
Any ideas what is happening and how to debug please ?
Bought this station mostly for Load Balancing with the house
The fact that the EM341 display is working correctly indicates that the meter itself is powered and measuring properly. Also, the fact that the app only lists EM340 should not be an issue, as EM340 and EM341 use the same Modbus RTU communication profile for load balancing applications.
A few things we would recommend checking:
Confirm that the RS485 wiring is connected to the correct terminals on both the meter and the charger.
Try swapping the A and B RS485 lines, as reversed polarity is one of the most common reasons for communication failures.
Verify that the meter communication settings are:
Modbus Address (ID): 1
Baud Rate: 9600
Parity: None
Stop Bits: 1
Ensure that the RS485 terminals are securely tightened and making good contact.
If possible, test with a shorter cable run to rule out any wiring-related issues.
One thing that caught our attention is the wiring description:
“green to GND, red to A and blue to B on station”
Could you please share a photo of:
The EM341 terminal connections.
The charger RS485 terminal connections.
This will allow us to verify that the wiring matches the recommended connection scheme.
Additionally, please let us know:
The charger firmware version currently installed.
Whether meter detection simply fails, or if any specific error message is shown in the app.
With the photos and the above information, we’ll be happy to assist further.
