Assistance Needed: FMC250 Offline Issue and FMC650 Trip Event Not Triggering

Hello Teltonika Community,

I’m facing two issues with my Teltonika devices and would appreciate any assistance or insights from the community or support team.

Issue 1: FMC250 Devices Going Offline

My FMC250 devices are intermittently going offline from FOTA and stop sending data after a few days. When I send the “web_connect” SMS command, they reconnect to FOTA and resume sending data. However, some devices still don’t send data even after this command.

I’ve checked all device data and configuration parameters, and everything seems correct. However, I suspect the issue might be related to the configurator I’m using. I’m currently using a configurator for firmware version 03.28.07.rev.159, but the devices are running the latest firmware, 03.29.00.rev.157. I had to use this older configurator because the .cfg file I have for the FMC250 only opens in that version.

  • Could this mismatch between the configurator and firmware versions be causing the problem?
  • If so, is there a way to obtain a .cfg file compatible with firmware 03.29.00.rev.157 for the FMC250?

This is how some devices getting offline and can check the firmware

When i used latest configurator of fmc250 firmware 03.29.00.rev.157 this happens when i open the configuration file.

Issue 2: FMC650 Not Sending Trip Event

I’m not receiving the Trip event (parameter 250) from my FMC650 device. My other devices, such as FMC250, FMC130, and FMC800, send this event perfectly. Here’s what I’ve observed:

  • For the FMC250, parameter 250 is configured in permanent IO.
  • For the FMC130, FMC250 and FMC800, it’s configured in eventual IO.
  • For the FMC650, parameter 250 is configured in the IO settings (see attached screenshots for details).

However, the FMC650 only sends parameter 250 once with a value of 0 and then never triggers again. Interestingly, it does send the trip odometer data correctly.

The Trip event is critical for my platform, as it drives many logics to accurately detect vehicle stops and collect statistics.

  • Why is the FMC650 not sending the Trip event as expected?
  • Is there a specific configuration I might have missed, or an alternative way to get this information from the FMC650?

Additional Information

I’ve attached the configurations for both the FMC250 and FMC650 for your reference. Please let me know if you need any further details.

Hi,

For the issue number 1.
The firmware are different so you need to use 2 separate configurator for each firmware versions , please download the configurator here: Teltonika Configurator versions - Teltonika Telematics Wiki

  • If the device is going offline it maybe because of the power disconnection issue, or network issue, usually you can configure the device to connect to FOTAWEB every 30 minutes.

For the Issue number 2:
Instead of CAN speed as movement source select accelerometer

DIN 1 as ignition source

Note please connect the DIN 1 to the ignition wire/cable of the vehicle
Check this page for the wiring diagram: QM-FMC650.pdf
