Wifi signal 0% after update

Well, after updating the new firmware, I’ve lost connection to all my Wi-Fi devices, and I’m getting 0% signal strength.
I’ve done a factory reset, and there’s still no Wi-Fi signal. I’ve loaded a backup, and it still has no signal, it stays at 0% and doesn’t scan for networks.
Any quick help, please?

Good afternoon,

In the first instance, If I could ask if you have all the antennas attached to the device? Specifically the Wi-fi antenna? Do you use original, or third party antennas?

Can you also advise how you supply internet to the device itself? If you go to System → Troubleshoot and then in diagnostics ping 8.8.8.8 are you able to transfer packets?

I would also like you to upgrade the device’s firmware, ideally, via bootloader method. This unique feature allows you to perform firmware update and reflash the device, which can potentially resolve the issue. Instructions on how to do so : RUT241 Device Recovery Options - Teltonika Networks Wiki

Firmware : [RUT241 Firmware Downloads - Teltonika Networks Wiki]

Please advise if you still encounter issues after investigating these factors?

Please also advise of the use case for the device, where you keep the device whether it is in an open area, or encassed in metal box.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, my router is 200km from my home. It’s used by an astronomical observatory, and I can’t have physical access. The Wi-Fi antennas are the original ones; the “mobile” antennas have been replaced with an external 4G antenna. The router has been working for months and is on a well-ventilated table. I can install a stable firmware remotely and try testing the Wi-Fi.
Thank you.

Well, after reinstalling the previous stable version, the Wi-Fi signal is at 0%.
It doesn’t work with the factory settings.

If i try to send packets on 8.8.8.8 it´s all rigth,

Hi there,

The last thing that you can utilize is mobile utilities. Link to guide : RUT241 Mobile Utilities - Teltonika Networks Wiki

You would need to find out the phone number for the Sim card, and send SMS messages to that number. Commands that may help would be:

wifioff
wifion

I would recommend at least trying them, as at this point if that doesn’t work, you would need to get physical access to the device, to bootloader reset it and double check the antennas.

Good. I was able to do the physical reset thanks to a close friend. Everything works perfectly now. Thanks. And what a scare.
