Vpn and overlapping subnets

Hello,

We have 2 RUT951 routers both with the same subnets (192.168.1.0/24)
Both routers have public IPs.

My configuration is:

Router A:
IP: 192.168.1.254
and one connected clent A with IP: 192.168.1.10

Router B:
IP: 192.168.1.254
and one connected client B with IP: 192.168.1.11

I need to be able to connect clients A and B (like they are on the same subnet)

Is it possible? I tried IPSec solution but it doesn’t work

Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, it is possible to achieve this. The simplest way to do so is by using OpenVPN in TAP mode as it requires a layer 2 communication.

Please follow the instructions provided in the wiki configuration example here.

Keep in mind that the server and client LAN IPs must differ but remain within the same subnet.

Best regards,
