Using RMS to connect RUT906 to plc

I have successfully configured the RUT906, added it to RMS, and created a VPN Hub. I also set up a route to my PLC with IP address 192.168.7.10, which I can successfully ping from the RUT906.

However, when I connect my laptop through the Teltonika RMS VPN, the VPN connection is established successfully, and I can access the router at 192.168.255.14. The issue is that I’m unable to ping the PLC from my laptop.

I’ve already checked the firewall settings, and everything appears to be in order.

Hello,

Could you please enable Masquerading on the LAN → WAN zone (under Network → Firewall → Zones) and then recheck the PLC reachability from your laptop connected via RMS VPN?

Let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Thank you, it’s work.

Dear Martynas

I got another issue, My PLC is S7-1500 ( Siemens ) and its ports are profinet.
I cant see the plc from the TIA Portal even when I can ping it from CMD.

Do you think it is a VPN issue or I need to do some sitting on the router?

Thank you for the update.

  1. Is this the same PLC in the RUT906 LAN?

  2. Is the correct default gateway configured on that PLC? Also, do you have a route added to that PLC?

  3. If you haven’t yet, check our wiki RMS VPN hubs configuration guidelines that might suggest or bring some useful insights:

  1. yes same PLC.
  2. I add the route on the RMS vpn only. shall I add a route to the plc?
