Use Task Manager to send backup and add WiFi network

Hello all, I’m new to RMS and trying to learn asap.

We have shipped a big number of RUT200 with a WiFi AP that does not allow connection to any smartphone. (On top of that we do not know when the device shall turn on/ be activated

My idea is to massively delete the WIFi and add a new WiFI Access point when the device turns on.

I can either resend a backup that does not have WiFI adn the add it later.

Question: can I create a Task that shall push a backup to the device once it is powered up? (it could be tomorrow, next week, next month)?

Can I then create a second Task that after pushing the backup with no WiFI, pushes creation of a new WiFi unique AP?

thanks

Giancarlo

Greetings, @wmga01,

Welcome to Teltonika Community!

To set up configuration templates in RMS, you’ll first need to select any online device, then open Actions → Configuration → Device Configuration.

From there, navigate to Wireless → SSIDs → Wireless Interface Configuration and adjust your WiFi settings as needed. Once your changes are ready, use the save button to store the configuration as a template. This saved template can later be assigned to any device through tags.

To save configuration template press this button:

After the template is created, you can manage deployment through Administration → Tags. Create a new tag, add the desired actions (such as applying a configuration template or uploading a backup), and assign the tag to your devices.

Tag creation window:

To add a tag, select your devices, click on Actions->Management->Manage tag(s)

If a device is currently offline, RMS will queue the actions and execute them automatically once it reconnects.

For more information regarding tags, you can refer to this wiki article:

I hope this helps, in case you have any additional questions, don’t hesitate to reach out!

Kind regards,
V.

thank you very much for the detailed step by step instructions….

appreciated
