I recently updated the firmware on a RUT955 (to RUT9_R_00.07.04.5). For the next few days, I was not able to access the modem remotely. The connection status LED was green but was flashing every couple seconds. I can currently connect to the modem remotely. I do not want to put it into service and have it loose connection. Wondering what may have happened?
Could you please clarify if the device connects to the operator and whether data connection is established? You can find this information in Status → Network → Mobile.
Is the issue related to remote access only or are there other internet connectivity issues on the device as well?
I checked the data connection and it says Connected.
The issue was related only to remote access. After the firmware upgrade, the modem was not accessible remotely, only via local ethernet. It seems to be working fine now, connected at present via 3G (and it does alternate between 3G and 4G),
Since it switches from 3G to 4G, it may be a signal issue. Was it always connected to 4G before? Check your signal against the values provided here.
