I have a RUTX12 dual SIM router that appears to be bricked. Wifi, LTE and ethernet connectivity all down, all LED’s off with the exception of single steady green PWR light under appliance 4 pin power socket.
After the 5 second wait following powerup, the green light for LAN ports 1-4 followed by WAN port light up sequentially for a fraction of a second, then all go off.
None of the LEDs begin to blink rapidly, so I assume it’s not entered bootloader mode.
However, green ethernet light on appliance LAN port 1 which is connected to computer flashes periodically. I cannot access 192.168.1.1/index.html via browser. I also cannot ping the router from command line.
I’ve set ethernet params for computer to be as follows:
IP address: 192.168.1.2
Gateway/Router: 192.168.1.1
Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Ping returns as follows:
PING 192.168.1.1 (192.168.1.1): 56 data bytes
Request timeout for icmp_seq 0
Request timeout for icmp_seq 1
Request timeout for icmp_seq 2
etc…
Appliance is protected by UPS.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to resurrect RUTX12?
I have already tried bootloader sequence, it seems that the appliance does not enter bootloader mode; the help article says that
“The LEDs will begin to blink rapidly, indicating that the device has entered bootloader mode.”
However, I do not get rapidly blinking LEDs, just the single green flashing LAN 1 port that is connected to computer. I have tried the bootload sequence about 10 times ; same result each time.
thanks again for the suggestion, it is appreciated.
Sorry… to write about bootloader… (english…)
" Bootloader: I have followed the steps in "
I know… that procedure say… that the device will assume ip address 192.168.1.1 and you try using 192.168.1.2
BUT
just to not give up of the device… check also for device will become 192.168.0.1 and you configure your computer to 192.168.0.2 and try to access the bootloader menu, using your web browser.
Thanks for your ongoing efforts to help. I tried all of those things; the problem is that the router won’t boot so no possibility of getting to the normal web admin interface.
It appears to be thoroughly bricked! It’s strange though that the PWR light comes on, and any of the LAN ports green lights come on with ethernet connected to computer; router just does not establish TCP/IP connection. i.e. no response to ping.
