TRM500 compatibility

I´m looking for alternative routers that supports the TRM500 without any speed limitations on the interface side. Would it be possible to find and list some guidelines about compatible routers and operating systems?

Also wondering if TRM500 is compatible with USB C ↔ RJ45 adapter if changing to RNDIS or ECM mode? (using external power supply).

I´m mainly interested in routers but others may also be interested in compatible operating systems.

Hello,

To clarify, it won’t be possible to use the TRM500 modem without speed limitations on routers that only support USB 2.0 interfaces, as the USB 2.0 standard will inherently bottleneck cellular throughput. To take full advantage of the TRM500’s performance, a router with USB 3.0 support should be used.

Regarding the USB-C ↔ RJ45 adapter, unfortunately, this approach will not work, as RNDIS/ECM modes require a USB or PCIe interface to function. These communication modes are not supported over Ethernet adapters.

As for compatibility:

• All Teltonika routers (excluding TRBs) that support a USB 2.0 serial interface are able to detect the TRM500 as an external modem.
• For operating systems, the TRM500 is compatible with most linux-based and windows OS as long as proper USB drivers are in place and the OS supports RNDIS/ECM or PPP modes.
