Trigger IO on any sms text

Dear all!

I want to change the State of one IO of my TRB140 by sending any SMS text.
With a specific test it is quite easy by using the “SMS utilities” but therefore i need a specific text to make the action happen.

Is this possible?

Thank you, Wolfgnag

Hello,

If I understand correctly, you would like to change the I/O state on your TRB140 by sending a custom text message? If it’s the case, this is indeed possible.

You can achieve this by creating a new SMS rule on the Services → Mobile Utilities page. Simply specify the desired text message and set the action to “Change I/O state”.

For more detailed instructions, you can refer to the following wiki page: TRB140 Mobile Utilities - SMS Utilities.

Best regards,

Yes, this one i know.
But i want to change the IO State on and Text. So if any SMS is Received, set the Output to true.

Thank you for the clarification.

Unfortunately, it’s not possible to change the I/O state with just any SMS text sent to the router. However, you can create multiple SMS rules with specific texts to toggle the I/O state to Low or High as needed.

Feel free to reach out if you have any additional questions.

Best regards,

Good morning and thank you for your promp reply.
Is there any other possibility to notify (using Modbus, OPC-UA, IOs…) when a new SMS is received by the TRB140?

Thank you

Hello,

Yes, the Event Reporting service would be the most convenient option for receiving notifications when a new SMS arrives on your TRB140.

All necessary information for setting this up can be found here: TRB140 Event Reporting.

Best Regards,

Ok, thank you.

The thing is if using the Event Reporting service can “only” inform via SMS (which would be fine if I cann add a filter for the sender) or E-Mail in case of a new sms. Do you think it is possible to solve my issue with a script?

Thank you

Does nobody have a Solution for This? :frowning:

Thank you
